Marokka release special edition of iconic design sculpture to celebrate Chinese New Year and the Year of the Dog

Chinese New Year falls on 16th February in 2018 and heralds the beginning of the Year of the Dog. London design house Marokka is commemorating the occasion by releasing a special edition of their iconic dog sculpture in Chinese red.

Marokka is a London design house harnessing the structure and geometry of the objects that surround us. Working from the inside out, they reinvent traditional shapes by taking them back to the DNA of their internal architectural form.

“Frank” is Marokka’s first and most iconic design – a French Bulldog rendered in a polygonal geometric design to create a striking linear sculpture. Extremely hard to manufacture with so many facets, Marokka’s sculptures are made in Italy from a recyclable plastic, with each piece made one at a time and carefully hand finished.

Frank’s sharp, clean lines make him the perfect piece of modern sculpture for the home or office. Despite a classic design feel, his subtle playfulness means that every time you look at him, you’ll feel like smiling.

Joe Cocozza, co- founder of Marokka said:

“We have many Chinese customers who appreciate the geometric appeal of our sculptures, and we wanted to commemorate the Year of the Dog with something special. Our Frank sculpture in red is the ideal Chinese New Year gift, but also a great gift for children born in the Year of the Dog who will grow up with a stylish design icon in their bedroom and a loyal friend for life.”
